FreshAF Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 19 August 2026 (quoting update) · These terms govern your use of the FreshAF platform ("FreshAF", "we", "us"), which connects customers with independent service professionals ("Pros") for on-demand mobile car wash and laundry services in South Africa. Sections 1 to 10 apply to everyone. Section 11 applies to Pros.
1. The platform
FreshAF is a marketplace. Services are performed by independent Pros who are vetted and approved by FreshAF but are not our employees, agents or subcontractors. Pros set their own prices. When you place an order you contract with the Pro you selected, at that Pro's price. FreshAF provides the booking, dispatch, tracking and payment technology, and charges a service fee for it.
2. Accounts
- You must be 18 or older and provide accurate details, including a valid preferred address.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account.
- You may delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion anonymises your personal details; records of completed transactions are retained as required for accounting and tax law.
3. What you pay
Every amount is shown to you in full before you confirm an order. Your total is made up of:
- The Pro's price for the job you described. Prices shown before you ask for quotes are indicative and marked "from". Each Pro sets their own price, so prices differ between Pros — the price shown next to a Pro is that Pro's price for your job.
- A vehicle or load adjustment. The Pro's price covers a standard vehicle or load; larger vehicles and heavier loads apply a published multiplier to it.
- A callout fee based on the distance from the Pro to your pin. Travel within the free radius is free; beyond it a per-kilometre rate applies, subject to a cap. The current free radius, rate and cap are shown at booking.
- The FreshAF service fee — a percentage of the above, currently 10%, charged to you in addition to the Pro's price. This is our fee for operating the platform. It is not deducted from the Pro: the Pro receives their full price and the full callout fee.
Rewards you redeem are subtracted from the total. The final amount payable is displayed before you confirm and does not change afterwards unless you change the order. Amounts include VAT where VAT is applicable.
4. Getting prices and choosing your Pro
- You describe the job once — service, package, size, location — and we ask every available Pro in range. Pros who publish a price list answer immediately and automatically; Pros who price per job send their own price and when they can come.
- Each price you see is that Pro's quote for your job, together with their distance, rating and availability. A quote is that Pro's commitment to do the job at that price.
- You are under no obligation to accept any quote. Choosing one books that Pro at exactly the price quoted; the other quotes fall away.
- Requests stay open for a limited time and then expire. Availability depends on Pros being online and within range, and is never guaranteed — you may receive no quotes at all.
- We never substitute a different Pro. Another Pro's price would differ from the one you agreed.
- Booking ahead. You may ask for a job as soon as possible, or schedule it for a specific date and time up to 30 days ahead. Pros quote against the time you asked for and tell you whether they can make it. A Pro who quotes on a scheduled job is committing to that slot, not merely to the price.
5. Payment
- Card: processed by our payment provider. The full amount, including the service fee, is taken at booking.
- Cash: paid to the Pro on completion. Cash orders must be settled in full with the Pro before they leave. The Pro collects the whole amount, including the FreshAF service fee, and accounts to us for that fee separately (see section 11).
- You will not be charged more than the total shown at confirmation.
6. Cancellations
- You may cancel free of charge while we are searching for a Pro or before the Pro starts travelling.
- Once work has started, orders cannot be cancelled.
- Card payments for cancelled orders are refunded in full, including the service fee, to the original payment method; rewards used are returned to your balance.
7. Rewards programme
- Customers earn a percentage of each completed order's value as a rewards balance, redeemable against future orders.
- Rewards have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are forfeited when an account is deleted.
- FreshAF may amend or discontinue the rewards programme with 30 days' notice.
8. Laundry-specific terms
- Check garment care labels; Pros follow standard care processes. Items requiring specialist cleaning must be flagged in the order notes.
- Empty all pockets. FreshAF and the Pro are not liable for items left in laundry.
- Any damage or loss claim must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, and is limited to 5× the order value or the item's fair value, whichever is lower.
9. Car wash-specific terms
- Ensure your vehicle is accessible at the pinned location and that any site rules (estates, office parks) permit mobile washing.
- Pre-existing damage should be noted with the Pro before the wash begins. Claims must be reported within 24 hours with photos.
10. Conduct
Abusive, fraudulent or unsafe behaviour towards Pros, customers or staff results in account suspension. Pros may decline to perform a service in unsafe conditions.
11. Terms for Pros
This section applies to you if you register as a service professional on FreshAF Pro. It governs your use of the platform. A separate written Supplier Agreement governs the wider commercial relationship; where the two differ, the Supplier Agreement prevails.
- You are an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, partner or joint venturer of FreshAF. You decide when to go online, which jobs to accept, how to perform the work, and what to charge. You are responsible for your own tax, insurance, equipment and any helpers you use.
- You set your own prices. You can publish a price list in FreshAF Pro, in which case it answers matching requests automatically — or leave it blank and quote each job yourself. Either way the price is yours. Published prices may be changed at any time and apply to requests received after the change.
- A quote you send is binding on you. If the customer accepts it, the job is yours at that price and at the availability you stated. Quoting and then not showing up is treated as a no-show.
- Scheduled jobs. Where a customer has booked a specific date and time, quoting means you are committing to that slot. You can hold a future booking while working other jobs in the meantime, but arriving late for, or missing, a scheduled slot counts against your standing the same as any other no-show.
- You set your own service radius. You are offered jobs only within it.
- You keep 100% of your price and 100% of the callout fee. The FreshAF service fee, currently 10%, is added on top of your price and charged to the customer. Nothing is deducted from your earnings.
- Card jobs. The customer pays FreshAF. We pay your price plus the callout fee to your nominated bank account. You must keep your banking details accurate and current.
- Cash jobs. You collect the full amount from the customer, which includes the FreshAF service fee. That fee is held by you on our behalf and is owed to FreshAF. The running balance is shown in your FreshAF Pro earnings screen. You must settle it on request, and we may set it off against amounts we owe you on card jobs.
- Jobs are offered only to the Pro the customer chose. Offers expire after a short window. Declining or letting an offer expire carries no direct penalty, but acceptance and completion rates form part of your standing on the platform.
- Standards. You must hold the approvals and documents you supplied at onboarding, keep your equipment safe and serviceable, arrive within a reasonable time of accepting, and complete work to a professional standard. Repeated quality complaints, no-shows, or taking FreshAF customers off-platform may result in suspension or removal.
- Approval. Registration is an application. FreshAF may approve, decline or suspend an account at its discretion, including on the outcome of document and identity checks.
- Your details are shown to customers. Your business name, name, rating, distance and price are visible so customers can choose you. Your contact number is shared with a customer once you accept their job.
12. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, FreshAF's total liability for any claim is limited to the value of the relevant order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Privacy
We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). See our Privacy Policy for details.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes are notified in-app and continued use constitutes acceptance. Questions and complaints: support@freshaf.co.za.
